Christopher Liechty, Vice President

AIGA XCD  co-founder Christopher Liechty, (pronounced “Lick’-tee”), served as President between 2002 and 2006. His firsthand cross-cultural experience stems from two years as a volunteer in Taiwan, where he became fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Christopher's dream was to facilitate greater participation by US designers in the global design community and to address the changing needs of the design profession, as more businesses require a cross-cultural marketing communication experience. Since then, XCD has established relationships with designers and design associations in many countries and is participating in major international events for the design community.

Christopher also is Principal of Dialect Brand Translation, that specializes in rolling out brands globally. He received his BFA from Brigham Young University and a graduate certificate Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Utah. He has been published in numerous books and magazines including Graphis Poster, Communication Arts, How Magazine, A Designer’s Research Manual, The Power of Paper in Graphic Design, and Design 360 (Guangzhou, China).
