Patricisa CuČ, Exhibitions + Programs Director

Patricia Cué received her BFA in 1989 from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and completed her graduate degree at the Basel School of Design in Switzerland in 1992. Before becoming assistant professor at Ohio University in 2001, she worked mostly on publication design projects for clients in the U.S. and Mexico. She has designed books and printed materials for the Getty Conservation Institute; Tensor Biosciences; Museo Dolores Olmedo; the Mexican Stock Exchange; and Arquine, a quarterly architecture magazine for which she received an award from the Mexican Design Council. She has taught at Universidad Anáhuac and Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico, and at the Art Institute of Southern California in the U.S.

As the mother of the five-year old Julia, Patricia is also interested in issues concerning contemporary motherhood and culture through book arts. Her research has been published in the AIGA Voice Journal for Graphic Design, and her work has been featured in a Fahrenheit Contemporary Art and in “Drawing in the Design Process” by Peter Olpe. She is currently working on a book documentation of vernacular wall painting for music in Mexico. Cue also directs a study abroad program to Mexico through which she develops cross-cultural design experiences with students and professionals.
